Updating a characters mesh

PostPosted by AdamD » Sun Jun 05, 2016 12:28 pm

Hi. I have been enjoying using Akeytsu and like where it's heading. I have been animating a character which now needs some modelling updates. I was wondering if there is any suggested workflow to update a mesh or copy skin weights to another character?

Thanks,

Adam.

Hi Adam,

Well, no, at the moment you can not save and reapply your skin on a character. For the moment, the best workflow i can suggest is to save your skin in an other software. Sorry :-(.
But as i told Fairy in her post few minutes ago (http://nukeygara.prophpbb.com/topic155.html) those Skin Save/ Skin Apply features are planned since long time.
It is possible these features will be choosed as next developments.
Thanks for your patience.

Many thanks
Cheers,
Aurelien

Hi Aurelien,

Thanks. Good to hear it's in the works. For the moment I've been able to export my updated characters from Blender and repoint my animation in unity to get things working so I can wait for the update for now :)

Keep up the great work!

Sorry to revive an old post, but I was wondering if there's been any support added yet to enable updating a character's mesh.

Hi Barliesque (and Happy 2017)

As Julie answered to Vidi recently (http://nukeygara.prophpbb.com/post793.html#p793) the Copy/Paste weights feature takes more time than expected due to the fact that we had to realign some priorities.
The feature is still in work in progress.
Thanks for your understanding.

Cheers,
Aurelien

Thanks Aurélien.

Sorry I missed that other thread -- I wasn't sure what to call the feature I was looking for. :)
Glad it's on the roadmap and in progress.

All the best,
David
