How do you use the cyclemaker to complete the other side?

PostPosted by woahthere » Tue Jul 05, 2016 12:49 am

I have rigged then animated the right half of my model. The Legs have been named names like "Thigh_L" and "Thigh_R" and I can select them using the left and right buttons in the picker.
I've tried clicking the cyclemaker->side button without anything selected, with all frames selected, with all the right (or left) bones selected, and with all the right (or left) bones selected and all frames selected.
Nothing ever changes.
How do I get the cyclemaker->side button to work please?

Hi Woahthere,

Well, it sounds weird. Naming convention is good.
You don't have to select all your frames, just the current one is (should be) enough.
What does happen when you select a leg and hit mirror transfos (into the Transform window) ?
Please don't hesitate to send your file if the problem goes on.

Thanks

Initially I couldn't get it to do anything. Now I can get it to do something (I'm not sure what's changed), but I get very strange results.

If I select my thigh bone and click mirror, the transform mirrors the bone rotation (so +26 degrees on one leg becomes -26 degrees on the other leg.) I've set every bone in my model to be rotated exactly the same, so what I'd need is +26 degrees on the left leg to be mirrored to +26 (not -26) on the other leg.

It also seems to move the bones so I get very strange leg movements.

I'm not sure how I send you my file. Can you maybe put a sticky post on the bug forum with how to get files to you?
