Hello Nukeygara team,

the akeytsu to UE4 fbx problem
was made with the official akeyboy testfile which is bundled with akeytsu. :)

issues from Akeytsu to UE4
Akeytsu [beta 0.1] FBX files within UE4 [4.8.3]

-Skateboards which are scaled to 0 are still visible. In every imported animation all skateboards are visible.
-getting a warning that no smoothing group information was found in the fbx file.

Hi myclay,

This is an old post, but after some research, we found why you met the 0 scale value error and the smoothing group warning.

For the "Track ___ has invalid transform(NaN). Zero scale transform can cause this issue." error:

Taking care of 0 scale values in UE "will slightly slow down every addition or modification operation because the transform will need to be converted to a Matrix when regenerating the rendering data.".
That's why Unreal Engine will never accept 0 for scale values and will replace it by 1. So, in the case of akeyboy, you always see the skateboard.
A workaround to avoid this is to replace, in akeytsu, all 0 scale values by 0.001 because in that case UE will not replace values and will also not show the skateboard.

For the "No smoothing group information was found in this FBX scene. Please make sure to..." warning:

Smoothing group is a rendering feature (smooth lightning by averaging normal vertices between adjacent faces of the smoothing group). Akeytsu doesn't manage it.
Because it's a warning with no effect on the global rendering, you can ignore this warning.
