Black Modells after Import

PostPosted by fairy » Sun Mar 12, 2017 9:44 pm

I dont know if that is a known issue, but I remember some people that had pure black models after import in Akeytsu .
I had it today. After some testing why , I recognized if the texture size is 8192 I get a Black Model , not so with 4096.
No big deal, but Is this a bug ?

Hi,

It's seems that it's a bug.
Is it you who made the model and if it's the case, which application have you use to do it ?
Is it possible to send us your file at our support email address?

Thanks you to report this weird result !

In this case no , but I know it was made in Maya. Very clean Modell in Topo and UV Layout

I can not share , it is a Model from a Client . I'm only the rigger in this project .
If I reduce the Texture size it is all OK, only with the big texture I get a black Model.
After rigging I can change the texture in the Target Application again , so not a big Problem

maybe, my posting it usefull for another Users.

cheers vidi

Hello,
FYI, we could reproduce the problem with a 8192*8192 texture. Such big textures are not loaded by akeytsu, for now.
We'll work on that.
Thank you

I just experienced the same problem. The model was originally created in 3DS and exported as an FBX. The textures in the folder are 4096*4096.

EDIT: This model was created in 2013, before textures were embedded in the model. Is there a way to reference the textures folder? Or a way to easily fix this in a DCC app?

Hi gorigger,

If textures were not embedded in your fbx, you just have to open your file in a 3rd Party Software (Maya, 3ds Max, Akeytsu...) and put them in the right way to allow you to see them.
