Good to know, but maybe you should pick up the pace a little.
Potential newcomers might get the impression that there is not much going on here beta-wise
and could - based on that assumption - easily move elsewhere...

Hi Hirazi,

Please know we do our best.
Lots of things to do. Only few people to do it at the moment until we can hire more devs.
So we define priorities and go forward.
We are here - things are going forward - no doubt about it !
It just that, today, we can not run just as if there were 5 devs.

Thanks for your understanding and support.

Cheers,

I do understand. Maybe calling it a "beta" already, was a bit premature?
And no: I don't mean that in a negative/cynical way... ;)

I understand that you like more activity from the developer, :D but that is not necessarily the Goal of a Beta.
A Beta mean User may tested the Software in this early stage and reported Bugs for helping to the developer.
Also is this Software ready to use and very stable for a Beta ^^
Therefore it is not wrong for me calling it a Beta .

By the way
Akeytsu, reminds me an Spriter , also a nice compact little App in the similar way, but for 2D Game Assets
All begann with a free Beta, too :)

You're probably right. But I don't need to see more participation by the devs as I'm sure they are working hard, what I would like is a quicker turn-around. If there has been a successful bug-fix, however minor, release it. Don't wait around for the next planned "major" release...

I actually have to agree with the slower stable releases rather than potentially buggy semi releases. For a small team I think it is best to worry about larger stable builds rather than trying to spend time making constant mini builds stable enough for release...the end result is a faster final build. Which I would much rather have. There is no such things as 'just' a successful bug fix.

A good compromise would be weekly updates on what is getting worked on, with possible tutorials on upcoming features. This way the users know that things are moving forward and be excited for things that will be in the next build. It also allows the devs to show things in a controlled environment and would 'hopefully' take less time than constant releases. Win win! :)

There is a distinct difference between closed and open betas. The pacing of a closed beta needn't fulfill any outside expectations.
The public nature of an open beta adds the problem that outsiders might start to view slow development as no development.
'
edit: I agree that a little more insight into "things to come"/"coming attractions" might help a lot also... ;)
